Memorial Day Parade

Last Monday of May

This annual commemoration of those service men and women lost in war, begins on Lyme Street with a parade and concludes at the Duck River Cemetery with the Laying of the Wreaths, music, and essays read by school children.

Make Music Old Lyme

Annual Summer Solstice

Part of the international celebration of free music on the summer solstice, the Old Lyme Arts District presents an evening music stroll along Lyme Street with talented musicians performing jazz, Americana, folk, and more.

Sound View Independence Day Parade

July 4th

A celebration organized by the Sound View Beach Association, this parade for all includes awards in categories such as best-decorated bike or wagon, most patriotic outfit, best float, funniest outfit, and even possibly best-dressed pet.

Old Lyme Midsummer Festival

Last Full Weekend in July

This summer favorite brings folks from across the region who love art, food, music, and family fun. A Friday night lawn concert kicks things off followed by a Saturday morning 5K,  children's crafts, food trucks, art sales, a car show, and more.

Fairy Doors on Lyme Street

October

In the spirit of the Museum's faerie house celebration, fairy doors pop up in front of businesses and residences along Lyme Street. All fairy doors can easily be seen from public walkways and invite your imagination to soar.
