The Town of Old Lyme will publish a commemorative book in honor of America’s 250th Anniversary. It will include photos of life in Old Lyme that depict our town’s natural beauty, celebrations, people, activities, and daily life during the year 2026. 

 Two or more photos will be featured on the front and back covers of the 2025-2026 Old Lyme Annual Town Report. Other submitted photos may be featured in the town’s America 250 publications and promotions, the Annual Town Report, town website and electronic media.

 

Photo Submission Guidelines:​

Photos must have been taken in Old Lyme between January 1, 2026 and November 30, 2026, and may depict any aspect of life in Old Lyme, including events, people, organizations, landscapes, wildlife, fireworks, parades, buildings, graduations, celebrations, sporting events, etc. 

 

All Photos must be submitted by 11:59 pm on November 30, 2026 via email. Please include the following information:

• Title or subject of photograph

• Photographer’s name

• Email address

• Telephone number

• Date photo was taken (approximate)

• Format: High-resolution JPG (300-600 DPI)

• Do not include any borders, signatures, or watermarks.

• Entries that include children should also send the linked Photo Release Form.

 

By submitting a photo, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions: 

Photographer warrants that each photo is their own original work to which they alone own the copyright. Photographer grants the Town of Old Lyme permission to use their photograph, without receiving monetary compensation, in the Town’s America 250 publications and promotions, the Annual Town Report, the town website, and other electronic media. Photos will be credited, as feasible. The Town of Old Lyme is under no obligation to use the entry in any way.

Photographs must not contain obscene, provocative, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content.

Digital manipulation is limited to basic enhancements such as standard adjustments to color, contrast, brightness, sharpness, cropping, etc. AI-generated, composite images, or heavily edited/digitally manipulated photos will not be accepted.
